Scott Parker Named New Burnley Boss
From Bournemouth to Bayern to Burnley
A Seasoned Manager Returns to England
Scott Parker has been appointed as the new manager of Burnley Football Club on a three-year deal. The former England midfielder returns to English football nearly two years after departing from AFC Bournemouth.
Parker's managerial career began in 2019 when he took charge of Fulham. He guided the Cottagers to promotion to the Premier League in his first season but was unable to keep them in the top flight the following year.
After leaving Fulham, Parker spent a brief spell as manager of Club Brugge in Belgium before joining Bournemouth in June 2021. He led the Cherries to 15th place in the Premier League in his first season in charge but left the club by mutual consent in August 2022.
Burnley are currently in the Championship after being relegated from the Premier League last season. Parker will be tasked with leading the Clarets back to the top flight.
